Lewis B. Insler is a founding partner of Insler & Hermann, LLP, and has been representing claimants in Social Security Disability, Long Term Disability, New York State Employee Retirement, and related disability claims since his graduation from Albany Law School in 1979. He started his own law firm in 1996 after 17 years as an associate and partner in a firm that did similar work. In 2003, he and Gabriel Hermann became partners, forming Insler & Hermann, LLP Over the course of his career, Lew has successfully represented thousands of Social Security Disability claimants. In addition, Lew handles Long Term Disability claims, both under ERISA and involving privately purchased long-term disability policies. He is known throughout the legal community for his expertise, experience, and compassion. He is often sought out by other members of the Bar to explain the interplay between multiple sources of benefits Lew is admitted to practice in New York State and in the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of New York. A Sustaining Member of the National Association of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR), he is also member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Westchester and Dutchess County Bar Associations, and the Northern Westchester Bar Association. In addition, he is a certified Arbitrator for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), and is accredited to handle disability claims before the Veterans’ Administration (VA). In order to stay abreast of the law, Lew regularly attends the NOSSCR conferences held twice a year and has attended a number of the Annual Advanced Forums on Litigating Disability Insurance Claims
